DJ Classes for Kids and Teens
Hands-on DJ workshops for ages 3 to 21 across Essex and London. Your child learns real skills on professional equipment, in small groups led by DBS-checked instructors. No experience needed. All equipment provided.
What we offer:
Group DJ Workshops
Small groups of up to 12, each with their own controller and headphones. Your child will be mixing from the first session, not watching someone else do it.
We group by age and adapt the content to match. A five-year-old explores rhythm with games and big colour-coded pads. A thirteen-year-old learns to beatmatch, blend tracks and build a set. Everyone works at the right level.
Sessions are relaxed, inclusive and judgement-free. No experience needed.

One-to-One Sessions
For young people who want to go at their own pace, work on something specific, or prefer learning without a group around them.
We build each session around your child. That might be getting the basics down with nobody watching, preparing for a school performance, nailing a technique that will not stick in a group setting, or pushing well beyond what the workshops cover.
All ages, all levels. Complete beginners are welcome. Your child does not need to take a group workshop first.

Holiday Workshops
Full-day DJ workshops during half-term, Easter and summer holidays across Essex and London.
Your child spends the day learning to mix, building sets and performing to the group. They go home with a recorded mix of their own. It works well for young people who want to try DJing without committing to weekly sessions, and for regulars who want a full day on the decks.
Groups are kept small and split by age. All equipment provided.

Birthday DJ Parties
We bring the decks, speakers and an instructor to your venue. Your child and their friends learn to mix, scratch and perform their own mini DJ set. Everyone gets a proper turn, not one person hogging it while the rest watch.
Two hours of hands-on mixing with a host keeping things moving. We bring everything including headphones and lighting. You sort the venue and the cake.
Ages 6 and up. Groups of up to 15.

Includes all equipment and a DBS-checked instructor. We come to you anywhere in Essex or London. We need a room and access to power.
A parent or guardian must be present throughout. At least two weeks notice needed so we can complete a risk assessment.
What to expect
Your child gets their own DJ controller and headphones for the session. Bring them and their music. We handle the rest.
For group workshops, drop your child off at the start and collect them at the end. You are welcome to stay and watch but most parents do not. For under-8s, a parent or guardian must remain in the building.
For one-to-one sessions and birthday parties, a parent or guardian should be present throughout.
All instructors are enhanced DBS checked and DJ Club CIC carries full public liability insurance.
Questions parents ask
Does my child need any experience?
No. Most children who join have never touched a DJ controller. We start from scratch and work at their pace.
What age do you take?
Ages 3 to 21. We split sessions by age group so the content is right for everyone. Under-5s join DJ Tots, which is play-based and sensory. Older groups get progressively more technical.
Do I need to buy any equipment?
No. We provide everything, including headphones. If your child already has a controller and wants to learn on it, they are welcome to bring it.
Can I stay and watch?
Yes, you are welcome to. Most parents drop off and collect at the end. For children under 8, a parent or guardian must remain in the building. For one-to-one sessions, a parent or guardian should be present throughout.
What music will they be mixing?
Their own. We ask your child what they listen to and build the session around that. The skills are the same across genres.
My child is shy. Will they be ok?
Yes. Sessions are small and nobody is put on the spot. Many of the young people we teach are quiet or anxious in group settings and do well because the focus is on the music, not on performing in front of others. One-to-one sessions are also available if your child prefers to learn without a group.
Can siblings share a session?
For one-to-one sessions, yes. Two siblings can share an hour at the same per-person rate. For group workshops, they will be in the same session if they are in the same age group.
Is it safe?
All instructors are enhanced DBS checked. DJ Club CIC carries full public liability insurance. For events at external venues, we complete a risk assessment at least two weeks in advance.
Where do you run sessions?
Across Essex and London at the same prices. We have regular sessions in Romford, Brentwood and East London and can come to your area for one-to-one lessons, parties and events.
